While visiting Ninh Binh, my mom and I had the opportunity to visit the Di Sản Tràng An Complex. A UNESCO world heritage site, the complex offers a gorgeous boat tour through the Karst landscape and presents traditional Vietnamese architecture. The complex has three selectable routes, which require 200,000 VND ($8 USD) admission. Each route lasts three hours - we selected route 3. Although the landscape was beautiful, we found the three hour boat tour to be a bit lengthy and overrated. Most of the temples and architecture on the tour are recently built and seemed to be made for tourists. If you have a hungry stomach on the tour, there are snack vendors at every stop. Our tour took us to two or three temples and through several caves by boat. I would recommend bringing food to avoid higher snack prices. Also, come early, as the complex gets packed out with tourists very quickly later in the day.
